Parkmore Selection 8 Year Barolo Cask Finish Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey
The Dufftown Parkmore distillery has been idle for almost a century now. Nevertheless, it remains an integral part of the Scottish whiskey map and a source of inspiration for a new generation of whiskey makers - such as Aceo Ltd.
One of the well-preserved Parkmore buildings is the Manager's House. In addition to the Coleburn Distillery, which is also closed, the historic building from 1894 is one of the monuments with which the family business Aceo, owner of the renowned bottler Murray McDavid, among others, underlines its close ties to Speyside.
At the Parkmore Distillery Manager's House, the Whiskey Creations team selects some of the house's finest whiskeys. These single malts from the Parkmore Selection series are dedicated to their historic place of origin.
A nice example of the high-quality and attractively priced bottlings in the series is the new Parkmore Selection 8 yo. The limited release combines a floral, malty Highland single malt with a finish in barrique barrels that previously contained full-bodied Barolo red wine from Piedmont. For maximum enjoyment, it was bottled without chill filtration and in a natural color.
